FAQ

Before you send

What happens after I submit?

Drop down icon

We'll ask a few smart questions to align on exactly what you need. Then give us a few days while we contact the best fit teams or individuals for your project. Learn more about how we source: How it Works →

Who sees my brief?

Drop down icon

No one, until you say so. Everything you submit is held in strict confidence by CDR. We share nothing until you explicitly approve exactly what goes out, and you will always stay in full control of how much to disclose.

How much does this cost?

Drop down icon

For you, nothing. Studios pay CDR a standard commission on work won through us, on identical terms. No paid placements, every candidate put forth on merit. You can see our fees on the For Providers FAQ →

What kinds of engagements can you source?

Drop down icon

All types. Individuals or embedded teams working under your direction, or scoped project work delivered to a fixed bid. "Four artists for six months" and "this port, done by March" are equally normal briefs.

Match quality is the whole point: a studio that has shipped your exact platform, genre, or engine costs less to onboard and delivers better work than a capable generalist. Ensuring you are hiring the best possible partner is what our full-market view is for.

What kind of information do you need?

Drop down icon

Whatever you have. A finished spec goes straight to sourcing; a rough paragraph or a link to your game is enough to start a conversation. We are very good at defining requirements as well. Schedule a call and we'll help you understand what types of providers are best positioned to deliver and what partnership structure is most appropriate.

Please tell us the softer requirements too. Time zone overlap, language fluency, whether you want daily standups or monthly check-ins, whether you'd rather work with a 15-person creative partner or need to scale with a 200-person AAA provider.

Am I committing to anything?

Drop down icon

No. Send a brief, see who comes back, and compare it against whatever you sourced yourself. Plenty of buyers run us alongside their own shortlist to confirm they saw the whole field. Sometimes we surface a studio they hadn't found; sometimes we confirm their pick was right. Both are useful.

Can I get introductions instead of fully priced bids?

Drop down icon

Yes! You choose: warm introductions, or we run the competitive process and bring back priced proposals.

Can you help with games sourcing or licensing?

Drop down icon

Yes. We source games and licensing partners too. If you're looking to buy or license games rather than build them, send a brief the same way.

What kinds of partners can you find?

Drop down icon

More than dev teams. Studios to build your game, co-dev and art partners, marketing agencies, licensed titles, even acquisition targets. If you're on the buying side of a search, we can likely run it. What we don't do is sell-side work: we never market or sell services on a studio's behalf.

Do you offer support beyond sourcing?

Drop down icon

Yes. For buyers who want hands-on support, we advise on strategy, act as prime contractor, and manage delivery end to end. Explore managed services →
